The body of a boater who’s been missing on the Mississippi River since early January has been recovered.

A press release from Lee County Sheriff Stacey Weber says that police were called to Lock and Dam 19 in Keokuk this morning when an employee found a body in the water. Sheriff Weber says that the body did match the description, and had identification on his person of missing boater Ron Wagner of Montrose.

Weber says that an autopsy will be completed at the University of Iowa Hospital at a later date, and results of that autopsy will be released when it is completed.

Ron Wagner and his fishing partner, Bill White Sr. of Argyle went missing on the Mississippi River on January 3rd, several agencies assisted in the search for the two men. White’s body was found in Hamilton earlier this month.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department sent their condolences to the families of the two men in today’s press release.
