Texas Semi-Drivers Taken to Hospital Following Rollover Accident

An overnight semi-truck rollover resulted in a truck driving duo being hospitalized.

The Lee County Sheriff’s department says 61-year-old James and 58-year-old Tammie Noah, both from Crowley, Texas were injured when their semi rolled after James swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway shortly before 11 PM Sunday night.

Authorities say James Noah was driving the truck on north on Highway 218, when a deer ran into the roadway and he over-corrected. The semi rolled and destroyed a stop sign, before coming to rest on its side in the median. Both the driver and passenger were removed from the truck and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

James was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital by Lee County Ambulance. Tammie was taken to the University of Iowa Hospital by MedForce Helicopter.

Damage to the truck was estimated at $8500.
