Municipal Election to Take Place November 7

Polls will open for municipal elections on November 7.

Burlington

Burlington has faced an exciting campaign season, beginning first with 15 men and women running for three open seats. The primary elections narrowed the candidates down to six: Jon Billups, former mayor Bill Ell, incumbent Bob Fleming, Scott Diehl, Lynda Murray, and Matt Rinker.

In Burlington, voting will take place from 7 am until 8 pm, and there are three polling locations:

Precincts 1, 2, and 3 vote at Oak Street Baptist Church, located at 1303 Oak Street.

Precincts 4, 5, and 9 vote at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 2411 West Ave.

Precincts 6, 7, and 8 vote at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 2515 Madison Ave

West Burlington

Royce Heitmeier and Al Waterman are two incumbents running unopposed for four-year terms. Hans Trousil is running for a two-year term as mayor.

The polls are open from 7 am until 8 pm. Voters in West Burlington will head to St. Mary’s Parish Center at 520 W. Mount Pleasant Street.

Danville

Kenton Cole, Mark Fedler, and Stefanee Leis are running for two open seats for four-year terms. Jerry Strause is running for a two-year term as mayor.

The polls are open from noon until 8 p.m. at the Danville Community Building at 104 W. Shepherd Street.

Mediapolis

Incumbents Clark Leroy Kerr, Chuck Massner, and Vollie Rifner are running. Troy Garrison is challenging the incumbents. Randy Doyle is running for a 2-year seat.

The polls are open from noon until 8 p.m. at Mediapolis City Hall at 510 Main Street.

Middletown

Doug Coyle is running for re-election for the Mayor’s seat, a two-year term in he’s unopposed. Donald Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Syd Mijanto are running unopposed for four-year terms on the council.

The polls are open from noon until 8 p.m. at Middletown City Hall at 120 Mechanic St.

Register to Vote

Interested voters who have not registered to vote can do so at the polling place. Bring a valid photo ID and proof of residence. Examples of a photo ID are a drivers’ license from any state or student ID. Examples of proof of residence are documents with a current home address on them, such as a bank statement or a utility bill.
