Authorities in Keokuk are investigating a house fire on Keokuk’s east side Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the house owned by Rhonda Peters at 1129 Fulton Street around noon on Wednesday. When firefighters arrived heavy smoke was coming from the house, two hoses were used to fight the fire from both the front and rear. Off-duty firefighters in the area were called to assist.
Fire crews were on scene for around three hours. The home was insured. The fire is still under investigation.
