Illinois Man Hit By Vehicle In Quincy

Police say a Macomb man was hit by a vehicle at 33rd and Broadway in Quincy on Friday afternoon.

WGEM reports that the victim’s fiancee, Kaylee Lyles, said he ran across the street just before 2 p.m. and was hit by an SUV near KFC on Broadway.

She does not know why he ran into the street.

Lyles said she then put her hands up in the air to stop traffic and several cars pulled over to help the victim.

The man was transported to Blessing Hospital with a broken leg.

It is unknown if any citations were issued.

UPDATE

The man has been identified as 28-year-old Austin R. Hotto. The Herald-Whig reports that he ran into the driver’s side, rear door of an eastbound SUV.

Hotto was cited for illegal use of the road by a pedestrian.
