Obituaries Friday February 16th

Placelia “C.C.” Robinson, 87, of Burlington, died at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in Burlington.

Born January 31, 1931, in Poplar Bluff, MO, she was the daughter of Curtis and Lillie Mae Rankin Clegg. On September 12, 1980, she married Donald Robinson in Burlington. He later passed on March 31, 1991.

Placelia worked for IAAP for 32 years.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship. She loved singing music, dancing, talking with her kids, and talking one-liners. She was a big sports fan, particularly of basketball and football. She enjoyed cooking, but most of all baking. She loved to shop. Spending time with her kids was the most important thing to C.C. Placelia didn’t know a stranger, and many times she would offer her home to those in need. She would help anyone.

Survivors include one son, Marcus Clegg of Burlington; one daughter, Julie (Maurius) Mason of Burlington; one brother, Victor Clegg of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Sandra Sands of Miami, FL; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one infant great-grandson, Rai-John Clegg.

Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Ms. Robinson will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship with Reverend Lawrence L. Manson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A repast will be held at Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship following the internment.

A memorial has been established for Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship.
