Steve Hexom talks to Julie Hensley (Hatter Hensley’s wife) at Rock the Radio
Around 300 people danced the night away at Rock the Radio on Saturday. The annual event, put on by the Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association, features local hall of fame inductees and classic rock music. This year’s local inductees are Gary Richards, and Nudie Binder. They’ll be inducted to the Iowa rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame in Okoboji in September.
This year’s show was a special event to honor late Hall of Famer, and radio personality the Mad Hatter. An auction of Hatter memorabilia brought in $1650 for the association.
Two bands performed, Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50’s, and Andy Avery & the Decades, entertaining those in attendance until late in the night. The emcees for the event were local radio personalities Steve Hexom and & Mikey J.
