Purnell
A nine woman three man jury found 30 year old Thaddeus Purnell not guilty of three counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse and one charge of lascivious acts with a child, in Des Moines County District Court yesterday.
The jury took just three hours to return the verdict. The victim in the case claimed she had suffered abuse from the age of ten. During the trial the victim took the stand to accuse Purnell. Purnell also took the stand in his own defense to deny the allegations.
Purnell was facing up to 40 years in prison.
