Friday Night Results – Snake Alley Criterium/Burlington Road Race

Racers from all around the world were on the road Friday for the snake alley criterium, Burlington Road Race. The first race to finish was the 23 mile ride from Mediapolis to Main Street in Burlington. The winner, Jake Johnson from West Des Moines, that said the humidity and the bugs made the ride a challenge.

The next race left from downtown Burlington and rode to Mediapolis, turned around and headed back for the down hill portion of the race. Mike Mike Balajewicz from Champagne Illinois was first across the finish line

The category 1 and 2 riders traveled 95 miles in less than three and a half hours. Ness Dalling from Team Manatoba was right beside the winner John McCann from Cincinatti as they neared the line, McCann gave a final push to edge out the only man that stayed with him at the front of the pack. McCann said he tried to break from the pack a few times.

Dalling and McCann finished about 45 seconds ahead of the closest riders on them Today the Snake Alley Criterium continues, with races starting at around 8:30. The two main features, the Cobblestone Climb at 11:30 and the Snake Alley Race around 3:00.
