Obituaries for Tuesday June 12th

Kimberley Kay Morris, 43, of Middletown died 11:57 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born November 12, 1974 in Mt. Pleasant, IA she was the daughter of Richard and Donna (Bowman) Vaughn. She married Daren Morris on June 14, 2014 in Danville, IA.

Kimberley worked for Iris Cleaners in Mt. Pleasant for 17 years. She previously worked for Wal-Mart, Blue Bird and Nipro.

Her hobby was RC car racing and she received many trophies in the sport. She loved playing cards on Saturday nights with her in-laws Dana and Paul Morris. She enjoyed shopping, bowling and family get-togethers.

Survivors include her husband Daren Morris of Middletown; son Timothy James Keck of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter Shawna Elisabeth Keck of Salem, IA; mother Donna Vaughn of Mt. Pleasant, IA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, step sisters and half- sisters.

She was preceded in death by her father, paternal and maternal grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, her step mother and step brother.

The memorial funeral service for Kimberley will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16th at Danville First Baptist Church, 302 Main St., Danville, IA 52623. The Rev. Jack Edmisson will officiate.

A memorial has been established.

According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.

Emma Mae Beattie McDonald passed away at the Great River Hospice House on 11 June. She was the daughter of John Auld and Minnie Rae Heckert Beattie. She was born on 04 April 1925. Following her mother’s death shortly after childbirth, she was raised by her father’s sister, Ella Mae and Vernon McDonald in the village of Garland, IA. She graduated from Morning Sun High School in 1943

She attended Iowa State Teachers College for one year then worked in Des Moines at Meredith Publishing until her marriage to Maurice Harold McDonald on 14 August 1945.
He passed away September 2012 after a marriage of 67 years.

She was a homemaker and worked with her husband at farming and raising livestock. She was an employee of Earnest Insurance in Morning Sun for 30 years. Mae was a life long member of the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, Morning Sun, where she served as Sabbath School treasurer, Vacation Bible School director, and teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ted, brother, James Howard Beattie, aunt and uncle and daughter-in-law, Susan McDonald.

She is survived by sons: Richard, Champaign, IL, Ron (Mary) Morning Sun and Grimes, David (Nina) Littleton CO. and daughter, Janet (Jeff) Schulte, Mililani HI and brother-in-law D.W. McDonald (Donna) of St Louis, MO.
She has five grandchildren: Ben & Matt McDonald, Diane Croteau, Emily Dempsey and Jay Schulte. Nine great grandchildren: Wes, Grant, Layne, Murphy, Malaya, Addie, Theo, Mason & Alex. She was very happy to finally have great grand daughters.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church at a later date

A memorial fund has been established including: Sharon Church, Great River Hospice House, Morning Sun Library and Mediapolis Ambulance Service.
