Ron “RJ” Jackson, 76, of Danville, died at the Great River Hospice House, at 8:04 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018.
Friends may call after noon on Thursday, July 19th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends 5 until 7 p.m.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday July 20th at Lunning Chapel with Mr. Ned Fry officiating. Military rites will be held following the service by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded.
In lieu of flowers a memorial to the family has been established and may be sent in care of Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mt. Pleasant St., Burlington, IA 52601.

Judy Ann Asher, age 71, of Wapello, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Indiana while on a vacation to Ohio. The daughter of Harry and Verna Shreve Garmoe, she was born on February 19, 1947 in Burlington. Judy married Edward ‘Eddie’ Asher on June 18, 1967 in Wapello. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1998.

She graduated from Danville High School and attended Burlington Business College. Judy operated the Asher Farm Kennels for over 30 years along with working at the Louisa County ASCS office, the Salvation Army in Burlington, Colonel’s Kids in Columbus Junction, Community Action in Columbus Junction, a para educator at Wapello High School, and important to her several years at Underwood Landscaping in Wapello.

Judy was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and was involved in many church activities. She belonged to the Iowa Pet Breeders and was recognized a couple times as the Breeder of the Year. She had also belonged to the Morning Sun Saddle Club and earlier the Des Moines County Saddle Club. She actively was involved in showing her horses and dogs. She also enjoyed travelling, cooking, gardening, landscaping, and more recently her chickens. She did babysitting, and her best love was her grandchildren.

Her family includes four children, Aarren Asher of Wapello, Jann Asher of Davenport, Kristi & Lyle Leopard of Wapello, and Jodi & Jason Amundson of Henderson, Nevada; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Orville & Yvette Kerrwood of Port Charlotte, Florida and Lyle Garmoe of Burlington; a special friend, Kay Gerst; and like a daughter, Kim Schwartz and Dana Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; a grandson, Benjamin; a sister, Donna Lewis; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Garmoe.

The funeral ceremony for Judy Asher will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery followed by a lunch gathering at the church.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
