It sounds like a script to a TV show, sometimes real life has some truly incredible moments.

Lee County Sheriff Stacey Webber was meeting with his staff to solve a problem. They needed bullet proof vests for the Deputies stationed and the Lee County Court House. The problem, was finding the money in the budget. After wrestling with the issue for some time, the Sheriff told his top Deputy to take a break and they would look at it again in about an hour.

Webber says just as his Deputy left the room, his phone rang. On the other end was Cynthia Hagmeier with the Order of the Eastern Star. She told the Sheriff the organization had done a fundraiser and that the Sheriff’s Department had been selected as the recipient on the proceeds. According to Webber, the donation of $1000 has solved the problem of the vests and there is enough money left for some dog food as well.

Webber says he has no doubt that this was heaven sent and expressed his gratitude to the Order of the Eastern Star for the exceptionally timely donation. The incredible timing of the donation and call is a story where truth is stranger than fiction and the story has a happy ending.
