Swat Teams and Police were on the scene of a threat at United Township School in East Moline this morning.
Police say they got a call from an unknown individual on an non-emergency number where an individual claimed to have a gun and planned to use it at UT. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and the school was placed on lock down. Authorities say at no time were any of the students in danger and no one at the scene saw anyone with a weapon that posed a threat.
The area around the school was locked down as a search was conducted. The lock down was lifted when no threat was found. Authorities held a press conference at 11:30 this (Friday) morning, where they said they took appropriate action to a potential threat. No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
