The Judge has declared a mistrial in the 3rd murder trial of Stanley Liggins. He is accused of killing 9-year-old Jennifer Lewis of Rock Island. Her body was found outside a school in Davenport in 1990. The trial was held in Waterloo on a change of venue.

Juries have twice convicted Liggins in the death of Jennifer Lewis, who disappeared from her Rock Island, Ill. neighborhood. Her body was found near a Davenport elementary school. The Iowa Supreme Court overturned Liggins’ 1993 conviction. In November 2013, the Iowa Court of Appeals vacated Liggins’ second conviction.
