Local Effort Creates Over 3000 Pounds Of Food For Local Needy.

A local 4-H group, Falcon Friends, partnered with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program to produce fruits and vegetables on a West Burlington non-profit farm. The 4-H group also collected produce from local vendors at the Jefferson Street Farmers Market.

The result of the efforts produced a donation to local food pantries and others of 3031 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables being donated to feed those in need.

The Falcon friends 4-H club worked at Homestead 1839 to maintain a garden plot.
