The Mississippi River has hit flood stage and is forecast to continue its climb over the weekend.

Currently the River is at just over 15 feet, or minor flood stage. By the end of the day it’s forecast to hit nearly 17-feet. On Sunday predictions are that it will climb to just over 20-feet.

Forecasters have said that depending on conditions to the North, we could see flood levels in the coming weeks that top the 2008 levels of 25.7 feet.
