The students at Central Lee High School Building Trades Class have completed their first custom spec house.
In the nine month construction schedule, they were able to produce a home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an attached 2 car garage, a finish-ready basement with egress window and higher end touches.
This project gave students real hands on experience with building a house from the bottom to the top. Not only did they have the hammer and nails in their hands, they had to figure out how to overcome obstacles common in construction like budgets and weather delays as well.
Trade subcontractors also donated a little time to include students in on their portion of the work that has to be completed by a licensed contractor.
There will be an open house at 314 N Main Street in Donnellson Saturday, June 15th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The house is listed at $224,900.00. The sale of this house will help support the next 2019-2020 Central Lee Building Trades Class home to which is to be located at 519 Chestnut Street.
