West Burlington Volunteer Firefighters Receive a Small Raise

The West Burlington City Council has given volunteers firefighters a slight raise.

Firefighters receive a small stipend to be on call to respond to fires and other emergencies from the city. An increase of 2.5% was approved by the city council last week. The monthly stipend ranges from $100 to $250 a month for firefighters, depending on the number of calls they respond to. The deputy chief, battalion chiefs, and captains will get $275 to $325 a month under the fiscal 2020 plan.
