Burlington Fire Helps Hogs, Gives Award

The Burlington Fire Department was busy yesterday not with Fire calls, but with other community service activities.

Over 160 Hogs were stranded when the truck carrying them broke down leaving them without any relief from the over 100 degree heat index.

The Burlington Fire Department made it to their rescue, the Burlington Fire Department made it out to spray down the pigs to help them cool off until another truck could load them.

The Fire Department also gave a lifesaver award to two life guards and a nurse that save the life of a child on June 26 at West Burlington Pool.
