The city of Burlington is set to get a few new cops in the next few months.
Currently the Burlington Police Department is sitting at forty three officers, which is two fewer than the department would like to have.
Police Chief Dennis Kramer confirmed in an interview that the department has hired two officers to fill these two roles.
Kramer said one of the two officers will start next week, and the other the week after. But don’t expect to see the new officers in the next few weeks. Instead, the officers will be headed out for training and won’t be back to Burlington until December.
But by the time the two officers are back and ready for duty two of Burlington’s finest will be retiring putting the department back down to forty three.
