City to work on Central and Division

The City Public Works Department will start fixing the traffic light at Central and Division.

Over the winter, the ground sensors in the intersection broke and the city has had to switch the light to a timer, leading to frustrations for those who have had to wait at the intersection.

Fixing the light has been on the city’s docket for several months, but the city could not spare staff to work on the staff. The work started today at noon and is expected to be finished by Friday afternoon.

Assistant City Manager Nick MacGregor warned citizens to be careful when workers are out working on roads. He said a city worker was recently hit and though the worker is OK, he said he wants drivers to be cautious to not cause any more accidents.
