Bike and Walking Access Meetings

BURLINGTON, IA- The Hawk Eye reports that the South East Iowa Regional Planning Commission recently announced their plans to update the Greater Burlington Bike and Pedestrian Plan, which was originally developed in 2013. With the city winning the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant and the Greening Americas Communities grant, the city will be required to improve its biking and pedestrian routes on Main, Jefferson, and Washington Streets.
According to City Manager Jim Ferneau, bike lanes will become a major feature on Main and Jefferson Streets. SEIRPC now needs to update the plan to reflect these new ideas.
The bike plan will be discussed in two future meetings, the first at Burlington Public Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday
Next at the SEIRPC office in West Burlington at 530 p.m. on Wednesday.
