BURLINGTON, Ia- A new Business Model is being introduced to the Burlington area. The collective food hub is a kitchen retail facility available for use by local food vendors.
Iowa state law requires any and all wholesale food products to be prepared and sold in inspected and certified commercial facility. The Collective food hub provides these local food entrepreneurs with these such facilities to prepare and sell their products.
According to their Facebook page, The Collective will be a fully certified commercial kitchen within the guidelines of Iowa Inspection and Appeals and is available for rent by the hour, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. Additionally, an advantage to utilizing The Collective is the opportunity for food entrepreneurs to market and sell products collectively. The retail store will be staffed and open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
