City Council Work Meeting: Pool Bubble Still Under Debate

BURLINGTON, Ia (The Hawkeye)- The issue of the Dankwardt Park Baby pool Bubble is still up for debate.  At a City council work session on Monday, the city council voted in a 2 to 2 split decision on removing the baby pool.  The $150,000 price of separating the main and baby pool systems was not a financial burden that the council wanted to undertake which left them with two options.  Either permanently close the baby pool, or cancel the swim club.  Mayor Shane McCambel said at the work session “I only heard from one person who dais they didn’t like the baby pool.”  The bubble is scheduled for construction in September, but without approval from the city and public health, it is unknown when construction could begin if at all.
