Burlington, Ia-  At the Burlington City Council Meeting on Monday many citizens stepped forward during the Comments from the Audience portion of the meeting,  and asked the council what they were doing to combat the recent spike in gun violence and other violent crimes in the city.  Several concerned citizens stepped forward telling the council about how they don’t feel safe in the city anymore, calling for greater action from both the city and the police.  Mayor Shane McCampbell told citizens that both the city and the police department are doing everything within their power to help combat violent crime.
