Pike County Woman Arrested for Arson

Pike County, Il(WGEM) — A woman from Pleasant Hill has been arrested for intentionally setting a home on fire.

First responders were called to a structure fire on 814 S. Main St. in Pleasant Hill around 6:15 p.m. on September 11.

Pleasant Hill Police said before they arrived on the scene, a witness entered the burning home and carried 31-year-old Amanda Johnson out to safety. She was then transported to an area hospital.

With help from the Office of the State Fire Marshal Division of Arson Investigation, officials determined that Johnson intentionally set the home on fire.

Police then arrested her on September 16 on a warrant for the original charge of arson.

She has been lodged in the Pike County Jail.
