Burlington Public Forum

Burlington, Ia-  In light of a recent spike in violent crime, the Burlington City Council hosted a public forum at a local church on Monday.  The purpose of the event was to make light of recent crimes, and for members of the public to give feedback on how they feel the city should handle these crimes.  After introductions from various public officials, members of the public broke off into groups to discuss ideas for community improvement, which were then presented to the city council.  Mayor Shane McCampbell Says he would like for this event to become a regular occurrence because “Nothing bad ever happens from people coming together and talking about a problem.”
