Burlington, Ia (The Hawk Eye)- A deadly drug cocktail killed two people this past July, the Burlington Police Department announced Tuesday.
The Hawk Eye reports that the bodies of Kevin John Shavers, 59, of Burlington and Marlo Michelle Pilkington, 33, of Fort Madison were discovered July 17 in Shaver’s apartment at 617 Maple St. after a neighbor reported Shaver had not been seen for some time.
According to the BPD, final autopsy and toxicology reports indicate Shavers died after ingesting fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Pilkington died of methamphetamine and fentanyl intoxication.
