Burlington Ia- Burlington Police found several shell casings on Smith Street early Saturday morning after responding to a report of shots fired.
The Burlington Beacon Reports the caller, who notified police of the incident just after 5 a.m., reported seven shots and the sound of a car speeding away on the 1300 block of Smith Street. No one was hit by gunfire.
Other than shell casings, Burlington Police found debris from a vehicle near the shell casings. The report described the debris as black plastic, likely from the front end of a car.
Police currently have no suspect descriptions or a description of the vehicle. Those with information are encouraged to call the Burlington Police department.
