Ottumwa, IA (KYOUTV) – An Ottumwa man was arrested last week after police recovered more than $1,500 worth of stolen property inside his home.

Thursday authorities searched the home of Joshua Sprague at 127 Lincoln Ave in Ottumwa. When officers first tried to speak with Sprague, they say he hid in the attic while a second man, Robert Hoxsey, covered for him. Both men were taken into custody.

Hoxsey has already pleaded guilty to the charge against him. Sprague is charged with possession of stolen property and interference with official acts. Sprague posted bond and has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Hoxsey was charged with accessory after the fact. A pre-trial is set for February 17th.
