Burlington Schools Reveals New Logo

Sergeant Alex Rebling, 10 Years with the Iowa National Guard, Sergeant Mark Mier, 10 years with the National Guard, and others help lead Burlington High School students, staff, and faculty, in a sensation of music, and fun-filled environment of singing and dancing with the Sidewinders 34th Iowa Army Band as the High School unveiled their new logo/ brand. The high school/ the school district developed a committee full of many different stakeholders including the student body, purple and gray, booster club, parents, and district employees. The school district came to this idea after years of not having a consistent brand for the district, and the school had borrowed a brand from the University of Indianapolis for a period of time which is known as the speed hound. This was proposed and approved by the Burlington Community School Board 2 weeks ago that there should be a consistent brand and one that is their own. The new logo will take effect immediately, but what the school district wants to make known to the public is that “the speed hound will be kept until worn out such as Bracewell Stadium and athletic uniforms,” said David Ruehs of Burlington High School, and of Aldo Leopold Intermediate School. Students said that this was one of the best ways to not only present the new logo but to just have a fun day.
