Burlington, Ia-  Dozens of Citizens packed the meeting room in the Burlington Public Library Wednesday evening to hear about the various courses of action that could be taken in regards to Cascade Bridge.

The City of Burlington and Impact 7g, the environmental services firm assigned to assist the city in finding the best option for the bridge, held a public listening session to present their findings on the state of the bridge and gave their best estimates of cost for either rehabilitation or demolition and replacement of Cascade Bridge.

They also took time to take public input on their findings as well as conduct a survey of the audience.

The main talking point of the night was options of what to do with the bridge and the cost of said actions.

Based on past studies, as well as adjustment for inflation, they concluded a full rehab of cascade bridge would cost the city up to $10 million.

Demolition of the bridge and replacement with a concrete structure would cost the city roughly between $3.5 and $5 million.
