Tammy L. Howell, 55, of Burlington, died at 9:30 PM Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.  

Born January 7, 1958, in La Harpe, IL, she was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Davis Hoskins.  

Tammy had worked as a shipping clerk for Borghi and later at Goodwill.

Carol J. Gillette, 72, of Danville, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Danville Care Center.  Arrangements are pending at Elliott Chapel, New London. Steve Heald, 69, of Burlington, died at 5:07 PM Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.  

 Born January 5, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Leslie and Ruby Elliot Heald. On February 29, 1988, he married Janet E. Hollingsworth in Keosauqua.

William “Bud” Wayne Parker, 77, of Burlington, died at 2:45 AM Sunday, April 14, 2013, at his home in Burlington.  

Born May 21, 1935, in Industry, IL, he was the son of William H. and Ruth Alleyne James Parker. On August 26, 1962, he married Mary A. Palmer in Burlington.  

Bud worked for the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant from 1966 to 2000, he also co-owned Parker Cycle Sales.

Carol was born the daughter of Harley and Fern Brunk Jones in LaHarpe on August 12, 1936. On October 2, 1954 she married Kenneth “Bud” Sheffler in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2012. Born August 3, 1960, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Deloras Benedict Page. In 1976, she married Paul Grelk in Kahoka, MO.

Ruth Marie Grossman, 91 years, of Denmark, Iowa died at 7:15 pmMonday, April 1, 2013 at the West PointCareCenter, West Point, Iowa.  She was born July 23, 1921 at St Paul, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Sadie (Menke) Spiekermeier.  On June 1, 1944 at West Point, Iowa she married Floyd “Bud” Grossman.  He preceded her in death.  

Ruth was a homemaker.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Augusta, Iowa and of the Altar and Rosary Society.  She also belonged to the Plymouth Circle of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, and was a member of TOPS for many many years.   She enjoyed time with her family and friends, bowling leagues, playing cards, and taking care of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Randy (Tamara) Grossman, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Nancy Anderson, of Denmark, Iowa; one sister, Jeanette (Cletus) Bergthold, of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren: Tami Box, Tennelle Anderson-Kuhn, Joshua Anderson, Wylie Grossman, and Hoyt Grossman; and six great  grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Orville Spiekermeier, and two sisters, Irene Lessenger and Delores Fedler.  

Friends may call after 2:00 pmFriday, April 5, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel where the family will greet friends from 5:00 – 6:30 pm, Friday evening.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 amSaturday, April 6, 2013 at SacredHeartChurch, Fort Madison, Iowa with Reverend David Wilkening as Celebrant.  Burial will be at Denmark Cemetery, Denmark, Iowa.  A memorial has been established for Denmark Volunteer Fire Department and the Denmark Cemetery Association, and contributions may be made at the church or the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.  Online condolences to the Grossman family may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel website, www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
