Kathryn P. Parmeter Dean, formerly of West Burlington, Iowa, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Silver Crest Garner Farm Assisted Living, Davenport, Iowa. She was born September 10, 1921 the daughter of John Peter and Ora May Ellis Parmeter. Kathryn married Terrill Dean and he died October, 1996. Continue Reading
Mr. Charles “Gene” Cramberg, 86, of Dallas City, IL passed away at his home at 5:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2014. He was born on June 4, 1928 in Dallas City, the son of Elgy and Ruth Patterson Cramberg. On July 10, 1949 he married Joanne Claudine Bell in Colusa, IL.
Gene attended the Dallas City High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 where he worked at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, NC. Mr. Cramberg then worked at the IAAP near Middleton, IA for 27 years. Continue Reading
Dorothy T. Davis, 98, of Burlington, died at 6:30 PM Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Blair House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington. Born May 13, 1916, in Cedar Rapids, IA, she was the daughter of Franklin Bruce and Jennie K. Anderson Thompson. On February 15, 1942, she married Donald I. Davis in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marjorie Ann (Brandt) Johnson, 77, of Burlington, died at 6:45 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born April 6, 1937, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Charles H. and Grace E. Pforts Brandt. On April 6, 1957, she married Verle H. Johnson. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2001. Marjorie worked at Horace Mann for seven years and for Burlington High School for 21 years as a library clerk and secretary before retiring in 2002. Continue Reading

Michael Ray Phillips, Sr., 66, of New London, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Brian Swafford will officiate. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and inurnment will be in BurgeCemetery following the service. The Henry County Honor Guard will present military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will begin after 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23 with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial has been established for Henry County Conservation.

The son of Ray and Alice (Miller) Schrader, he was born July 8, 1944 at Grandview, Iowa. On February 8, 1964 he married Donna Kay Crow; she died June 10, 2007. Born on April 22, 1923 in Lebanon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Craig W. and Elizabeth A. Koonts Johnston. She married Roger Hansen December 27, 1943 in Wheaton, Illinois.
