Marie Ursula Cooper,age 93, passed away July 2, 2014 at St .Lukes Hospice House. She had lived the previous year at Wilshire at Lakewood in Lees Summit, MO. Born to Rosa and Dietrich Leucinger on August 11, 1920, in an area of Southwest Wisconsin that was home to many Swiss immigrants, Ursula was the fifth of six children. Douglas Max Ellis, 58, of Burlington, died at 12:50 AM Friday, August 1, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City .
Born May 20, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of Dale and Betty Jean Baker Ellis Feldman.

Timothy Edward Vorwerk, 55, of Burlington, died at 11:57 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born July 4, 1959, in Burlington, he was the son of James E. and Mary Helen McIntire Vorwerk.
Tim worked at Hy-Vee on Agency.
He was a 1977 graduate of Burlington High School
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on cars, his house, cleaning up leaves, and making people laugh.
Survivors include two daughters, Taryn Vorwerk of Chicago, IL, and Tricia (Perry) Boynton of Burlington; one grandson, Ari Boynton; his father, James E. Vorwerk of Burlington; and one brother, Mark Vorwerk of Burlington. Continue Reading

Edwin Earl Minard, 88, of Burlington, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at his home in Burlington, Iowa. Born on June 19, 1926, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the youngest child of Edward C. Minard and Hazel Anna Agnes Sattler. He married Charlotte “Gwen” Pettigrew on October 23, 1950, in Corinth, Mississippi. Gwen passed away January 8, 2011. Helen “Pat” (nee Barbre) Lodwick died on July 16, 2014 at age 92. She was born on June 26, 1922 in BaltimoreMD, the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (nee Wescott) Barbre and the sister of the late Robert W. Barbre. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Seeley G. Lodwick. Pat is survived by her daughters Barbara (Edwin) Rossow, Margery (Jerry) Tuttle, and Helen (Gary) Gerber. He was born March 14, 1952 in LaHarpe, IL the son of Thomas E. and Norma Duhs Teesdale Sr. In 1980 he married Cathy Jo Dunker. She survives along with his mother, Norma Teesdale of rural Niota, IL 4 sons, John T. (Ruth) Teesdale of Riverside, IA, Matthew H. (Beth) Teesdale of Niota, IL, Andrew J. Teesdale of West Branch, IA and Jacob J. (Meghan) Teesdale of Marion, IA, 1 daughter, Kate M.J. (Joe) Teesdale of Cedar Rapids, IA, 2 grandchildren, Henry and Annabella Teesdale, 1 sister, Cathy (Richard) Smith of Omaha, NE, 1 nephew, Aaron (Jodi) Smith of Jasper, IN and 3 great nieces and nephews.
