Patricia Ann Reynolds, 79, of Burlington, Iowa, died at her home under the loving care of Great River Home Hospice on Monday, February 24, 2014. Born on August 21, 1934 in Fort Madison, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Hazel Wilson Junkins. She married Richard W. Reynolds on April 3, 1954 in Burlington, Iowa. Evelyn Grace Thompson, age 93, of Burlington, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2014, at the GreatRiverMedicalCenter in West Burlington. She was born to Chester Alan and Minnie Clara Wunnenberg McKeown in their home near Newport. She graduated from MediapolisHigh School and BurlingtonBusinessCollege. Evelyn married the late R. Kenneth ‘Ken’ Thompson on January 1, 1941 at Northfield where they raised their family on the farm until they sold the farm and enjoyed travel and volunteer work with group homes for youth in Iowa and Texas. Ken preceded her in death on September 30, 2003. Evelyn was an avid reader and was part of several Bible study groups. She enjoyed square dancing, singing in the Rural Women’s Choir and is best remembered for her homemade bread and knitting projects. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis and attended HeritageBaptistChurch after moving to Burlington. She is survived by her son Lee (Nancy) Thompson of Burlington; four grandchildren, Dr. Dale (Kim) Thompson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mary Thompson of Little Rock, Arkansas, David (Kim) Thompson of Stronghurst, Illinois, and Randy Thompson of Burlington; four great grandchildren; and two nieces in Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; a son, Alan; and a sister, Lucille. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, February 28, 2014, at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis with the funeral to follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Deb Kinney will officiate. Burial will follow at the KossuthCemetery and a lunch gathering will follow at the Apron Strings in Mediapolis. Bertha Margaret “Bertie” Fedler, 92 years, of West Point, Iowa died at 5:30 pmTuesday, February 11, 2014 at the DonnellsonHealthCenter, Donnellson, Iowa. She was born July 7, 1921 in rural Henry County, Iowa, a daughter of Conrad and Elizabeth (Rotter) Kruse. On October 1, 1947, she married Louis Fedler in West Point. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1999.
Mrs. Fedler was a homemaker, seamstress, and gardener. She also helped picked fruit at Faeth’s Orchards and was a bookkeeper for her husband’s gas delivery business. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Fort Madison Women’s bowling association, and was a 4-H Club leader. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidered, and bowled up till she was 85.
She is survived by one son, Howard Fedler, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter, Vickie (husband Gary) Sanders, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Jane Fedler, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother, Cletus Kruse, of West Point, Iowa; three sisters: Darlene Hellweg, of Donnellson, Iowa; Florence Menke, of St. Paul, Iowa; and Glorine Hellweg, of Fairfield, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Steve, Brad, Pam, Rod, and Kim; 12 great grandchildren: Logan, Anaka, Mya, Kaleb, Ella, Dante, Lauren, Mason, Bianca, Olivia, Damion, and Cade; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Conrad Fedler; one grandson, Doug Sanders; three brothers: Ernie Kruse, Richard Kruse, and Adrian Kruse; and two sisters, Marie Meierotto and Kathryn Meierotto. Albert Junior Siegrist, 85 years, of Keokuk, Iowa died at 1:00 pmMonday, February 10, 2014 at the KeokukAreaHospital, Keokuk, Iowa. He was born May 14, 1928 at Lomax, Illinois, a son of Albert Carl and Mildred (Logan) Siegrist. On November 14, 1951, he married Ruth Marie Yurth at Fort Madison, Iowa.
For years he worked in the warehouse and later did inside sales for Wilkens Pipe and Supply in Keokuk, Iowa. Prior to that he worked a period of time at Sheaffer Pen Company and also operated Hudson Oil in Alexandria, Missouri. He was a member of the SeventhDayAdventistChurch, Fort Madison, Iowa. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Marie Siegrist, of Keokuk, Iowa; one son, Steven (wife Laura) Siegrist, of Warsaw, Illinois; three daughters: Lynn (husband Bob) Dorothy, of Keokuk, Iowa; Kim (husband Jay) Schneeberger, of Clinton, Iowa; and Stephanie (husband Kirk) Cameron, of Hamilton, Illinois; one brother, Donald Siegrist, of Niota, Illinois; one sister, Kathleen (husband Donald) Helling, of Mt. Hamill, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.
