Bees Win; Back Home Tonight

The Burlington Bees wrapped up their road trip to Wisconsin yesterday with a 4-3 win over the Timber Rattlers. Tonight, the Bees begin a 3-game home series against the Clinton Lumber Kings at Community Field and game time is 6:30, with Michael Broskowski’s pre-game show on KBUR starting at 6:10.

Bees Win Sunday; Home Tues.

The Burlington Bees lost Saturday night, but came back yesterday afternoon to beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-3 at Fox Cities Stadium. The teams will wrap up their series today at noon and the Bees will then return to Community Field to begin a three-game homestand against the Clinton Lumber Kings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Bees Sting Snappers Again

The Burlington Bees beat Beloit again last night 7-3, to complete a three-game sweep of the Snappers. The Bees are now 3-4 for the second half of the season and 41-35 overall.   They head to Appleton, Wisconsin to face the Timber Rattlers tonight at 7 and you can hear the game on KBUR.

In local racing, Steve Kinser will make his final appearance at 34 Raceway tonight, after 36 years as a full-time member of the “World of Outlaws.”   Kinser…who’s from Bloomington, Indiana…has 577 W-O-O feature wins in his career, almost twice as many as second place Sammy Swindell. DH Rosa Leads Bees to Win

The Burlington Bees beat the Beloit Snappers 6-2 last night at Community Field, thanks in great part to Designated Hitter Angel Rosa’s 3-for-4 performance, with three runs batted in and two scored. The Bees and Beloit will play again tonight in Burlington and you can hear the game on KBUR.

New London’s Morgan Christner tossed a no-hitter and drove in the game’s only run, as the Tigers shut out Mt. Pleasant 1-0. (New London is ranked third in the state in Class 1A.)

Bees Lose in Rain; Now 0-4 in Second Half

The game was shortened to six innings by rain and the Burlington Bees lost yesterday to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-2. 

The Bees are idle today and will host the Beloit Snappers tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 6:30. (You can hear all three games on KBUR.)

 

 

At Busch Stadium in St. Louis yesterday, the Notre Dame and Holy Trinity baseball teams played each other, right after the Cardinals and Phillies finished.   For the record, Notre Dame won 12-2 in 8 innings.

Bees Rained Out; Twin Bill Tonight

Yesterday’s storm washed away any chance the Burlington Bees had of hosting the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers…one of three Midwest League games postponed by rain last night.  

They’ll try again tonight at Community Field with a double-header, beginning at 5 o’clock and you can hear the action on KBUR, starting with the pre-game show at 4:40.
