Bees Beat Beloit for 1st Win of MWL Season’s 2nd Half

The Burlington Bees won their first game of the second half of the season, last night…7-4 over the Beloit Snappers at Community Field. The two Midwest League foes will face each other again tonight and you can hear the game on KBUR, beginning with Michael Broskowski’s pre-game show at 6:10.

Bees Lose in Rain; Now 0-4 in Second Half

The game was shortened to six innings by rain and the Burlington Bees lost yesterday to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-2. 

The Bees are idle today and will host the Beloit Snappers tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 6:30. (You can hear all three games on KBUR.)

 

 

At Busch Stadium in St. Louis yesterday, the Notre Dame and Holy Trinity baseball teams played each other, right after the Cardinals and Phillies finished.   For the record, Notre Dame won 12-2 in 8 innings.

Bees Rained Out; Twin Bill Tonight

Yesterday’s storm washed away any chance the Burlington Bees had of hosting the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers…one of three Midwest League games postponed by rain last night.  

They’ll try again tonight at Community Field with a double-header, beginning at 5 o’clock and you can hear the action on KBUR, starting with the pre-game show at 4:40.

MWL Resumes Play after All-Star Break; Bees Host Snakes

The second place Burlington Bees will be back in action tonight at Community Field, now that the all-star break is over. 

 

It’s the first-of-three home games against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and you can hear all the action on KBUR, starting with Michael Broskoski’s pre-game show at 6:10.   Sunday, the Bees head to Cedar Rapids.

West is Best of MWL; Hinshaw Goes Deep in Pinch

The Western Division Midwest League All-Stars shut out the East last night 7-0 and a couple of Burlington Bees played roles in the victory. Outfielder Chad Hinshaw hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer in the 6th inning…and Garrett Nuss was one-of-11 West pitchers who combined to allow just two hits.   The Bees’ Kody Eaves was one-for-two, with a single, in three at-bats. The Bees return to Community Field tomorrow night to face the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and you’ll be able to hear the game on KBUR.

Bees Well Represented at MWL All-Star Game Tonight

The Burlington Bees and the rest of the Midwest League are idle today, except for the All-Star game at Comstock Park, Michigan, the home of the West Michigan Whitecaps. The Bees will be represented tonight by outfielder Chad Hinshaw…infielders Eric Aguilera and Kody Eaves…and pitchers Garrett Nuss and Harrison Cooney.

The Burlington Bees ended the first half of the season yesterday afternoon with a 13-3 win over the Kernels in Cedar Rapids. The Bees also earned the first-half wild card playoff berth, with a record of 38-31.     The Midwest League All-Star Game is tomorrow at West Michigan and the Bees begin the second half of their season this coming Thursday, at home, against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
