Bees Rained Out Twice

The Burlington Bees had both their scheduled games at Wisconsin last night rained out.  

They’ll try for a double-header again tonight, with the first pitch to be thrown…weather permitting, of course, at 5:05.  If there is any action, you can hear it on KBUR. Michael Broskoski’s pregame show will start at 4:45.   (The Bees have a day game scheduled for tomorrow at 12:05, also against the Timber Rattlers.)

Bees Lead as Game Suspended

The Burlington Bees were leading the Beloit Snappers 3-2 yesterday(Sun) afternoon at Community Field when the storm hit.   After a half-hour delay, the umpires declared the game “suspended,” and the teams will finish it June 8th, when the Snappers return to Burlington.   The Bees…now 13-8…go on the road to face Wisconsin four more times, before heading to suburban Chicago to face the Kane County Cougars.   You can hear tonight’s(Mon) game on KBUR. Air-time is 6:15 with Michael Broskoski’s pre-game show.  

At the Drake Relays, West Burlington-Notre Dame’s Jeff Giannettino went an even 7-feet to win the boys high jump title for the second straight year. His teammate…sophomore Xavior Williams, also from Notre Dame, placed third with a jump of 6-8. Continue Reading

Giannettino Clears 7-Feet; MP Girls Win Relay, Then Disqualified

At the Drake Relays, West Burlington-Notre Dame’s Jeff Giannettino went an even 7-feet to win the boys high jump title for the second straight year.  

His teammate…sophomore Xavior Williams, also from Notre Dame, placed third with a jump of 6-8.  

But the members of the Mt. Pleasant girls shuttle hurdle relay team had a rough day, as they won in record time, but were then told they had been disqualified because one of their runners had left early. Continue Reading

The Burlington Bees lost to the Beloit Snappers 1-0 last(Sat) night at Community Field.

Sloppy Bees Lose to Snakes

The Burlington Bees committed six errors…which led to four unearned runs…and a 6-4 loss last night to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.  

The Bees are now 11-7, while Wisconsin ups its record to 10-8.   The teams will end the series with an 11:30 game today at Community Field.   Tomorrow night, the Bees will host Beloit, in a 3-game set that will take them through Sunday afternoon.

Bees Edge Snakes for 11th Win

The Burlington Bees got by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 2-1 last(Tues) night at Community Field.  

The Bees improved their record to 11-6, while the Rattlers are now 9-8.   They’ll play again tonight in Burlington and you can catch all the action on KBUR, beginning with Michael Broskoski’s pregame show at 6:10.

Bees Beat Rattlers; Now 10-6

The Burlington Bees kicked off their current homestand last night with a 5-1 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. 

 

The Bees are now 10-6 for the year, while Wisconsin drops to 9-7.   The two teams play again tonight at 6:30 at Burlington’s Community Field.   You can hear the game on KBUR, beginning with Michael Broskoski’s pre-game show at 6:10.

Burlington Bees

Bees Home to Face Wisconsinites

Easter Sunday was a day of rest for Burlington’s minor-league baseball team, but the Bees will get back to work tonight(Mon) at 6:30 at Community Field, where they’ll take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.  

You can catch the game on KBUR, starting with Michael Broskoski’s pre-game show at 6:10.   The Bees homestand consists of a four-game series with Wisconsin, followed by three more with the Beloit Snappers, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  

 

17-year old Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Illinois beat Jason Feger and Brandon Sheppard over the weekend at 34 Raceway, to win the 6th annual Slocum-50 for Late Models and more than $10,000.   Jason Cook took the trophy in the IMCA Stock Cars feature and John Schulz crossed the line first in the 305 Sprints.

Bees Sting Captains; Home Monday

The Burlington Bees beat the Lake County Captains 6-1 in Eastlake, Ohio yesterday.  

The Bees are off today, Easter Sunday, but they’ll return home for a series beginning tomorrow night against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
