MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Top overall seed Florida earned a spot in the NCAA men’s Final Four and ended Dayton’s surprising run in the tournament by downing the 11th-seeded Flyers 62-52 to win the South Regional in Memphis.
Scottie Wilbekin scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the first half as the Gators picked up their 30th consecutive victory. Patric Young added 12 and seven rebounds to help Florida finally reach the national semifinals after three straight exits in the regional finals.
Meanwhile, second seed Wisconsin cut down the nets as West Regional winners in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament following a 64-63 overtime triumph against top seed Arizona.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Sidney Crosby recorded his second playoff hat trick and Brenden Morrow provided the eventual game-winner as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat Ottawa 4-3.
