The Burlington Bees hit a homer in the 6th to take down the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4-2 at Community Field last night to put them at exactly .500 on the season. Candidals dominated the New York Mets 9-0. Royals beat the Reds 7-1. Twins overtook the Pirates 4-3 and White Sox fell to the Indians, also 4-3. ND-WB Nikes Dominate, Bees Fall to Rattlers

The Notre Dame-West Burlington Nike Girls soccer team continued their dominant streak last night, winning 10-0 over Columbus. The Boys squad also won last night over Mediapolis, 4-0. In other Prep action Burlington’s Girls won 8-1 over Davenport West with seven goals from Burlington’s Elyse Huber. Cardinals Fall, Mediapolis Wins

In Prep Soccer, Mediapolis fell to Wapello 3-0 at the SEI Superconference Tournament in Wapello yesterday. Wapello plays Danville-New London tomorrow. Burlington Bees pitcher Jeremy Rhoades managed to hold Kane County to not hits until the eighth inning, when the Cougars managed to score three runs to win the game 3-1. The Burlington Greyhound Girls won a battle on the soccer pitch last night, downing Clinton 5-3, the Boys team was also victorious over Clinton, 1-0. In other prep soccer action the 6th Ranked Danville-New London Boys Squad won over IMS, 4-0. Keokuk’s undefeated Girls beat Fort Madison 9-0. New London, Burlington See Golf Success, Brady Suspended

The New London Girls Golf Team won the team competition at the SEI Superconference Golf Tournament Monday. They almost swept the whole competition, but were stopped in their tracks by Winfield-Mount Union’s Grace Edwards, who won top marks in the individual category. Meanwhile, across the river, the Burlington Girls Golfers were taking third at the Mississippi Athletic Conference Tournament at Kewanee Dune in Kewanee, Illinois, just behind Pleasant Valley and North Scott. The NFL Champions, the New England Patriots, have been fined $1 million and their quarterback, Tom Brady, has been suspended for four games after an NFL investigation determined that Brady and several members of the Patriots Staff likely knew that balls were deflated during the AFC Championship Game. Lebron Matches Rose Buzzer Beater, SCC Season Ends

The 15th ranked Iowa Hawkeye Baseball Team took down Minnesota 7-1 to complete a series sweep at home. They improved their record to 37-12 overall, 18-3 in the Big 10. The 13th ranked SCC Blackhawks had their season ended with a loss to 12th NIACC 5-3, in the Region 11 tournament. They end the season at 42-18. Chicago Can’t Stop LBJ, Bees in Rut

The Burlington Bees are still in a rut, dropping their fourth straight game last night against the Beloit Snappers in Wisconsin, 4-1. They return home tonight to take on Peoria at Community Field.
