THE BURLINGTON BEES WERE BACK HOME IN THE COMMUNITY FIELD “HIVE,” LAST(WED) NITE…BUT WHEN THE WEATHER TURNED, SO DID THEIR FORTUNES…AND THEY LOST TO THE FORT WAYNE TINCAPS 6 TO 5.  

 

THE TWO TEAMS WILL PLAY EACH OTHER AGAIN THIS(THUR) MORNING AT 11:30, AS THE BEES CONTINUE THEIR 9-GAME HOMESTAND…AND THE NEXT GAME TO BE BROADCAST WILL BE TOMORROW(FRI) NITE AT 6:30.  SATURDAY, LAKE COUNTY COMES TO TOWN.

FORMER RELIEF PITCHER JAKE BOYD MADE SURE HIS FIRST PROFESSIONAL “START” WAS A GOOD ONE LAST(TUE) NITE…ALLOWING JUST ONE HIT AND THROWING FIVE SHUTOUT INNINGS…AS THE BURLINGTON BEES BEAT DAYTON 4 TO NOTHING AT THE DRAGONS HOME FIELD IN OHIO. BURLINGTON IS NOW 9 AND 12, WHILE DAYTON FALLS TO 8 AND 17.   THE BEES BEGIN A 9-GAME HOMESTAND TONITE(WED) AGAINST THE FORT WAYNE TINCAPS AT COMMUNITY FIELD.  THE FIRST PITCH IS AT 6:30 AND BRANDON MARCUS’S PRE-GAME SHOW ON KBUR WILL START AT 6:10.

THE BURLINGTON BEES LOST TO DAYTON 6 TO 5 LAST(MON) NITE AT FIFTH-THIRD FIELD.   THE DRAGONS SCORED EARLY AND OFTEN, THEN HELD OFF THE BEES IN THE 9TH INNING, AS THEY THREATENED TO TIE THE GAME.    

 

IN HIGH SCHOOL GOLF, THE BURLINGTON GIRLS FINISHED SECOND TO PLEASANT VALLEY AT BHS’S GRAYHOUND INVITATIONAL.  PV’S FINAL SCORE WAS 348, WHILE THE LADY GRAYHOUNDS CAME IN AT 373.   MT. NY Jets Waive Tebow after Drafting Geno Smith

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Tim Tebow has been waived by the Jets, the end of an unsuccessful one-season experiment in New York.  

Coach Rex Ryan said in a statement put out by the team in announcing the move Monday morning: “Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped.” The Heisman Trophy winner attempted just eight passes after his ballyhooed arrival in a trade from the Denver Broncos in March 2012.
