Connecticut Legislature Begins Debate on Strict Gun-Control Law

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut lawmakers are expected to pass some of the strictest gun control laws in the country.

Debate is set to begin late this morning on the far-reaching legislation negotiated by Democratic and Republican legislative leaders.

It calls for background checks on all firearms sales, expanding the state’s assault weapons ban and a ban on selling or buying ammunition magazines holding more than 10 rounds.
