13 injured after Metrolink train collides with truck in Los Angeles

Authorities say a Metrolink commuter train has collided with a dump truck in Los Angeles, leaving 13 people with minor injuries.

Fire Department spokesman Shawn Lenske says nine of 190 passengers on the train were taken to the hospital Saturday for treatment.

The truck driver was treated at the scene and released.

Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten says the truck was on the tracks when the collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. in Pacoima in the San Fernando Valley. The impact of the crash caused the truck to overturn.

He says the wreck is under investigation.
