Thomas Lee “Tom” Brockway, 65, of Burlington, died at his home on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013.

    

Born on July 15, 1947 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Elwood Harrison and Patricia Ann Welch Brockway.

 

Tom served in the U.S. Navy and saw action in Vietnam. He worked in sales at R.L. Polk Banking and McFadden Publications. He enjoyed golfing, SCC basketball, Iowa Hawkeyes, fantasy sports, cookouts, music, traveling, debating politics and especially time with his family.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Kara (AJ) Smith of Northbrook, Illinois; two sons, Tyler Brockway and Morgan Brockway, both of Burlington, Iowa; two grandchildren, Alexis and Julia; one brother, Stephen (Sue) Brockway of Burlington, Iowa and one niece, Jennifer.

    

He was preceded in death by his parents.

    

Graveside ash committal services for Thomas L. Brockway will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Dean Graber will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.prughfuneralservice.com. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Sunnyside entrance prior to the service.
