Motorist should use caution when driving through Burlington on U.S. 34 for the next few months.
Today the Iowa Department of Transportation began a few road work projects. The construction consists of shoulder widening and pavement patching so there will be lane restrictions. There may also be some lane and ramp closures.
Construction work is also expected on the Central Avenue bridge that crosses U.S. 34. It will consist of repairing beams, making new expansion joints, and redoing bridge approaches.
The project is expected to be complete by late December.
