3 Arrested in Connection With Ft. Madison Shooting

Three Burlington residents were arrested in connection with the Fort Madison shooting on Monday.

23-year-old Heather Mears and 20-year-old Terrell Wilson have been charged with Aiding and Abetting and 1st Degree Robbery. 22-year-old Paul Wilkins Jr. has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder and 1st Degree Robbery.

Witnesses say they saw a silver car leave the area after hearing a gunshot.

The shooting occurred Monday afternoon in an alley of the 1400 block between Ave. F and G in Fort Madison. When authorities arrived, they found 25-year-old Matthew Griffiths of Fort Madison lying on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound to his leg. He was flown to Iowa City where he is recovering.
