Emma Elizabeth Ritchey, 15, of New London died Saturday, October 12, 2013 in an accident east of New London. Arrangements are pending at Elliott Chapel, New London.
Patricia A. Wiegard, 84, of Burlington, died at 7:01 PM Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born April 25, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Chester and Marie Hahn Mosena. On June 22, 1946, she married Philip Zotz in Burlington. He died October 28, 1960. She married Warren Wiegard on August 10, 1963 in Burlington. He died November 9, 2001.
Patricia worked at Ross, Woolworth and K-Mart.
She was a member of SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington, Lady Bug Club, Hawkeye Native, Friendly Neighbors Club, and Senior Citizens. She liked to play cards and bingo and loved music.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Zotz of Burlington; two sons, Jeffrey (Barbara) Zotz and Richard Zotz both of Burlington; four step-sons, Jerry Wiegard of Burlington, Jim Wiegard of Burlington, Dennis Wiegard of New London, and Martin Wiegard of Burlington; one step-daughter, Marilyn Burgus of Burlington, three grandchildren, Tara (Sedwrick) Ivey, Jason (Sara) Zotz, and Amy Zotz; five great grandchildren, Avianna, Sedrick, Ethan, Alexis, and Alice; numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Mosena of Burlington and one sister, Helen Neal of Ankeny; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands she was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, one son, and one grandson.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wiegard will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. Father David G. Steinle officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
