Citing ongoing problems with the economy and flooding, Jon Billups announced this(Thur) morning that he and his family have decided to go out of business, effective immediately.
Started in 1976 by his father Ron, Billups Tire & Muffler Centers at one time had two shops in Burlington, on south Roosevelt and North Main, and another in Fort Madison on Second Street. Jon closed the Roosevelt Avenue location a number of months ago to trim costs.
Billups says he has not had any offers on the downtown Burlington building.
