Obituaries Wednesday December 11th

Karma Kaye Ellard, 52, and her husband, Audie Crawford Ellard II, 59, died Monday, December 9, 2013 in a fire at their home in St. Paul, Iowa.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Elliott Chapel, New London.  According to their wishes, the bodies have been cremated, and inurnment will be in Burge Cemetery.  Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Friday with the family greeting friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to help pay funeral expenses.

Mrs. Mary M. Douglas, 91, of rural Dallas City, Illinois passed away a 2:00 A.M.Monday, December 9, 2013 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, Illinois.

Mary was born September 22, 1922 near Durham, IL the daughter of Merlind and Clara Edith Wagner Rice. On July 5, 1942 she married Lloyd Douglas in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2010.

Mrs. Douglas was a Colusa, IL High School graduate. She was a lifetime member of the DurhamUnitedMethodistChurch. She served as a 4H Leader, she liked taking photos, working on genealogy, and taking trips with her husband in their car and plane. She loved the farm, and enjoyed helping her father and later her husband.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Ray) Derrick of Congress, AZ, one son, Larry (Lois) Douglas of rural Dallas City, four grandchildren, Beth (Rodney) Pence, Richard (Melanie) Douglas, Derek Eimer and Sheryl Douglas, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lloyd.

Services will be held at 1:30p.m.Friday, December 13, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in DallasCity with Rev. Bob Wagner and Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the DurhamCemetery. Friends may call after 3:00p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the DurhamUnitedMethodistChurch and the LaHarpe-DavierHealthCareCenter. Marcia Joan Allely, 74, of Burlington, died at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Ottumwa, Iowa, on Saturday evening, December 7, 2013.

    

Born on December 12, 1938    in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Frank and Lela Grannaman Osback. She married Jim Allely on October 5, 1959 in Burlington, Iowa. They later divorced.

    

Marcia attended Burlington Beauty Academy. She worked at Witte Drug Store and later got her Realtor/Broker Certificate and worked for Keithley Realty. She owned and operated a resale shop, Mostly Marcia’s and was involved in Hooligan’s Restaurant. She also worked at Wal Mart was a past member of the Burlington Business Women’s Organization. She was of the Lutheran faith.

 

She is survived by four daughters, Kay (Randy) Alliman of Biggsville, Illinois, Leanne (Mark) Torrance of Biggsville, Illinois, Dana (Larry) Black of Ottumwa, Iowa and Rae (Ron Rupe) Wagler of Springfield, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    

She was preceded in death by her parents.
