Obituaries Saturday December 21st

Henry Joseph Pieper, 88 years, of Wever, Iowa died at 6:25 amFriday, December 20, 2013 at the West PointCareCenter, West Point, Iowa.  He was born November 27, 1925 in Houghton, Iowa, a son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Holtkamp) Pieper.  On February 4, 1950, he married Pauline Mary Bentler in Houghton, Iowa.  She preceded him in death.  Henry farmed in the Green Bay area since 1950.  He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison, Iowa.     

 

He is survived by three daughters: Kathy (Bill) Real, of Silver City, New Mexico; Judy (Mark) Hunold, of West Point, Iowa; and Beverly (Russell) Steffensmeier, of Donnellson, Iowa; three sons: Thomas (Sue) Pieper, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Missouri; Karl (Sue) Pieper, of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Craig (Shelly) Pieper, of Wever, Iowa; three brothers: William “Bud” (Glorine) Pieper, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Robert “Bob” (Evelyn) Pieper, of Pella, Iowa; and Bernard (Mary) Pieper, of North Platte, Nebraska; nineteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Agnes Pieper and Margaret Anderson, and one brother, John Pieper. 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 amMonday, December 23, 2013 at Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison, Iowa, with FatherMarkSpring as Celebrant.  Friends are invited to greet the family at a luncheon after mass at McAleer Hall.  Private family burial will be later at GethsemaneCemetery, FortMadison.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Schools, contributions may be made at the church or the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.  Online condolences to the Pieper Family may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel website, www.barrmemorialchapel.com.  Barr Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
