A Burlington man was arrested and released today after allegedly hitting his wife in the eye with a gun Sunday night.
According to authorities, the victim was sent to Great River Medical Center’s ER with an injury to her left eye. It was swollen, discolored, and cut. She also had bruises on her arm. The victim told authorities her husband, 34-year-old Jessy Hulett, threw her onto the bed, pulled out a gun, threatened her, and then hit her in the eye with the weapon. Once she told him to get away, he did, and she was able to leave the residence.
According to VINElink.com, the online version of the National Victim Notification Network, Hulett was bonded out of the Des Moines County Jail.
